Inspired by the likes of design institutions Droog,
Morgan is philosophical about design and wants
to help educate the masses by exposing them to
inventive ways of communicating design's impact
in their everyday lives. "In an era of mass produced
furniture that lacks spirit and attention to detail, I
try to find beautiful pieces of wood in raw form and
bring them to life."
Using rare, exotic, and recycled woods in all of his
pieces, Morgan takes inspiration from the beauty of
his medium and exposes the small imperfections that
exhibit a quality piece of handmade furniture. "I like to
explore organic shapes found in nature and create
pieces that blur the lines between form and function."
Not chasing trends, instead Morgan challenges
society's conventions and perceptions of what is
considered excellent contemporary design. In creating
custom, one of a kind pieces for his clients, Morgan
pushes the boundaries through innovative joinery and
simple forms that once pieced together, create
multiple contexts leaving the viewer different
options for placement in a space. |
